Pseudo celebrity or not...they’re all a bunch of trash peddlers. Unfortunately, they are just another product of the deteriorated state of our society…of our core values. It’s up to us to exert our consumer power. It’s up to us to turn them off, tune them out. The inundation of reality television killed my desire to watch television. I rarely purposefully watch television. Most of the time, I do so in passing because my husband has it on. Needless to say, my decision not to watch television is always reinforced when I catch glimpse of the garbage on television. It’s truly unfortunate. I, like you Jack, have fond memories of favorite shows like CHiPs, Emergency, The Brady Bunch, Mr. Belvedere, Growing Pains, Facts of Life, I Love Lucy, etc. Oh well…these days I’m selective of what I watch. I even pick and choose news stories from the various news resources online. Any oodle…that’s a lot of opinion for this time of day. I’m going to go raid the vending machine at work. Toodles! :) Amen.
