Podcast On The Edge

As I warned in an earlier blog, the podcast is struggling.  I really hope we can save it, it’s really become a labor of love for Stench and me. We need a big boost in subscribers in a short amount of time, Angela Channel and a bunch of you have some great ideas, so hopefully they work!

The kids and I had a great weekend… It was so great to get to spend some time with them, they hadn’t been over in a while!  We hit the new Bob’s Big Boy , it was a win-win… They had apple juice for Bing and hot dogs for Lucy (Two things they don’t have at the Toluca Lake Bob’s).  Lucy has been big on her Littlest Pet Shop toys lately… We have been collecting stickers to get the platypus, it’s good to have goals.  Bing is still obsessed with golf balls, especially colored ones… He loved the orange ones I had printed with his name on them.

I told you all I’ve been helping with the radio club at Lucy’s school… It has been really, really rewarding.  If there was one thing that being emotionally and financially destroyed in this whole divorce process has taught me is that the most important things are not money related!  I feel so lucky that I have the time to go down and work with the kids, they are so great and eat up everything we’ve been teaching.  Lucy and Bing had to go with me on Monday (It’s currently only open to 4th and 5th graders), and Lucy told me when she is old enough she wants to join.  The other exciting aspect of this is that it is the pilot program, we are working hard to get it in other schools, which I will hopefully be involved in too!  It has also been cool all the positive response I have received from my friends in the business, people like Carson Daly ( Amp Radio) , Chuck Ide (Clear Channel engineering genius) and Jim Pratt (Voice of the Lifetime network, Disney Channel and many others) have all committed to coming down and speaking with the kids.  I’m sorry to go on and on about this, but it is something I am really excited about!!!!

Stench is rocking at the Jason Ellis Show, He seems to really love it, which is so cool… He has been so down and put up with so much crap, it is great to see him doing something he enjoys.

This blog cannot be all positive… it’s just not my style!  Did I mention I hate my apartment building?  I’m counting the day’s until my lease is up and I can get out of there… And give you all the exact details on where not to live!!!!!

This guy kind of rules.   There are “Exotic chickens?“  Killer wave.   Dog silencer!?!?  Do you believe her?  Gotta stay on schedule.  Betty is fine!!!  Congrats on the marriage.

Rock On, Jack

The Blog is not effected, I will continue on forever!!!! And if the pod goes away I may do a dadjack pod.

I stopped listening and subscribing to the podcast when Jamie left. Jamie was very entertaining and whenever it was just Jack and stench it just wasn’t as entertaining for me. There was one time when Alena was on with Jack and Stench and she was entertaining also. I then realized that or me personally, the show was lacking a female dynamic. Its been about a year since I’ve listened, and if things have turned around and the show is energetic and entertaining maybe I will consider subscribing again.

Sorry Jack… I quit the podcast when Jamie left also, she is just so damn real and funny! Like CJ commented, it was missing the female edge to keep my attention. What about Angela Channel???? Speaking of Jamie, what happened to her? I totally lost the end of that story…..can you update us all? I work at an elementary school and I agree with you about how rewarding it can be when you catch a student’s interest in something that you love and they connect! That is so cool that you are volunteering your time & talent! What about teaching at the middle or high school levels? Is there a tech school near by that you could get involved with? That could be a new direction for your career to go. Our school currently is doing a tv broadcast every week (just to the school) and they have started a monthly school newspaper. The kids are just eating it up – they are so eager to learn in an exciting format, instead of the boring classroom. You could help them at Lucy’s school with the newspaper, hey even your photography skills would be valuable in that scenario! Have you ever thought of publishing a daily photo with your blogs? We would love to see your work Jack!
I think you are just beginning to become the person you were meant to be……keep on being! We love you!

OMG Jack, what would I do if you stopped the podcast??? I know that I have written to you and Stench in the past, but I listen to it every day to and from my work at Disneyland… I know that there are days that the pod could be better, but it is like a pleasant addiction, and I couldn’t do without it… I’ll take a crappy day over no days at all… There were a couple days in the last week when I spit out my coffee while driving because of your ’sex terms’ and follow up comments, thank God it didn’t come out my nose… I know it is difficult for both you and Stench to find time to donate it to us for taping the podcast, but for $5 a month, the pod is like a pot of gold for me… I know that I waste at least that much money and would double it, if need be… Please don’t stop… Love, love, love you guys and the podcast… Everyone at works says I talk about you guys like we are personal friends (which I do feel we are, even though have never met)… Love the podcast and my Jack and Stench… Diane from the Tragic Kingdom

Never post but have to say I will miss the podcast w/ Jack and Stench. I listen to Jamie’s Sacramento Podcast online (great because it cuts out all the song breaks) and to answer Connie in Colorado, Jamie is still Jamie. Today she talked about how her 3 yr. old son tried to french kiss her and blames it on the border boy and what he’s seeing w/ BB and the new girlfriend. I never know what’s real w/ Jamie and what’s elaborated for show purposes. On the other hand, Jack and Stench are always real to me! I wear headphones and get lots of housework done. 90sbuzz.com, tab hosts and choose Jamie, tab audio (to listen to Jamie for Connie). Glad for a DadJack podcast if the Jack and Stench Pod ends!

For those who don’t subscribe to the podcast….you don’t know what you’re missing!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Maria Says:

I’ve been listening since day one and love it, with or without Jamie!! I hope you guys don’t have to give up the podcast. I am so use to listening that I would be devastated!! What would I do without my Jack and Stench. I’d feel like I lost part of my family. I hope your ideas to keep it going work!

Also, I’m happy things are looking up for you, Jack. Working with kids is so much fun. It is very rewarding. It’s true when they say, the best things in life are free, like a hug from your son, a kiss from your daughter, or a smile from the kid in your classroom. How about the devotion from all your beloved fans!!! :-)
