Health Care…

OK, I’m not really going to talk about Health Care, I just didn’t want to be the only person not to mention it.

The kids and I had a great weekend, Lucy got in some whale watching with Angela, Bing and I did a little mini golf and we all went down to Hollywood and checked out the marathon.  Yesterday was Radio Club day, the kids are doing great!

I had kind of a bummer on Friday, Lucy came home from school and started to cry, I guess some of the kids were picking on her.  It breaks your heart as a parent to see your kids hurt, I was picked on as a kid too and I know how bad it feels.  You do your best to make them understand kids are mean and that it really has nothing to do with them… But she’s 6, and all she really knows is that they were making fun of her.  It was nice that one kid stood up for her, and I took a second to tell that childs Mom yesterday that her little girl is a very kind and considerate child.  I know it’s part of school and growing up, but I wish I could shield her from it.

I just wanted to post something quickly, I’ll blog at you more later!  have a great day!

Rock On, Jack

    Jack-

I have 7 Year old daughter- and when she comes home with tears in her eyes and tells me kids picked on her- my heart breaks! But it is part of growing up and I just hug her and let her vent! I try to explain that kids can be jealous- mean etc- and hat they often do not know how hurtful they are acting-

By the way, your children and adorable- and from what I have seen from pictures and videos you have posted- Lucy is a smart sensitive and beautiful girl- so my guess is the other kids ARE jealous!

    Dear Jack ~
I have 2 daughters and when they were 5-6 years old the same thing happend at school. It’s definitely a girl thing, I can’t explain it , all I know is that it has something to do with their age. It’s pretty typical and it will stop, I promise! As a parent, we all want to take away their hurt & pain, but it’s part of the growing up process that we all have to endure. You did the right thing, and that was so kind to tell the other parent what a great daughter she has, but you are raising a GREAT daughter too! With you as her Dad, she is very lucky.
