Dancing With The Stars, I don’t even like the show!

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

But I was so glad to see Kate get voted off Dancing With The Stars!  You’ve all heard my rants on the podcast,  but I really think she is one of the scummiest people in media today… correction, society today!

I had the chance to have lunch with Ron Insana (The host of the show I’m going to produce), and I really liked him.  It was such a relief, to meet him and find out he’s a good guy with a great sense of humor… I’m always afraid I’ll get stuck with another Bonaduce! The show starts May 10th, I’m really excited to get it going.  I’ll let you know where you can hear it as soon as I know.

Still no apartment, but I’m not worried yet, I still have over a month.  We looked at one the other night… Bing and Lucy liked it, well, they liked the pool!

We are small, but we are mighty!!! Mark (Miki’s husband) and Angela Channel (my sister) won the online contest on facebook thanks to all your votes, you rule!

Bing continues to plan his birthday party… Most recently Lucy is not invited, luckily she has 6 months to get back into his good graces.

In case your planning your summer vacation.   No thanks.  Shouldn’t a psychic have seen this coming?  Do you like “like“?  This is horrible, gross, disgusting!  Stench needs one of these!  Advertising opportunity.

Finally… Something I don’t regret!

As I prepare to get back to work, getting everything in order, knowing I won’t be able to just spend time with the kids on a whim, I started to think back over the past year and a half.  Many times I have looked back and regretted not doing thing differently, especially when it comes to use to time.  When you’re unemployed it’s easy to get caught up in the stress and worry and not enjoy the time that is allotted to you…  But I really feel like I used much of that extra time to hang with the kids.  We did all kinds of fun stuff and spent as much time as was aloud me together.  As I look back over the thousands of photos that I have taken over this time in job exile I know we made the best of a bad situation.

Lucy is sick… well she’s running a fever and was feeling a little nauseous. Hopefully Bing doesn’t get it… The only thing worse than a sick kids, is two sick kids!

Don’t be shark bait.   Twitter love.   Demi hates Ashton’s balls.   It was a great line-up this year.   He looks so happy!?!?  OC joggers beware!  Guess no one was willing to blow 5.4 million on this!  WWJF? (Where Will Jesus Fish)  Speaking of Jesus, he drives a GM.

Thank You All…

So much!!!!!  It was so heart warming to see all your comments of support and congrats!!!!  Thank you guys for sticking with me over these last two years of hell!!!

My 3 week run of guest co-Host of Welcome To The Mommyhood comes to an end this Sunday!  I had so much fun doing it, I love talking about my kids and remembering what it was like when they were babies!  The past two weeks shows can be found here... we spoke with a child agent about finding your kid a legitimate agent and the week before had a great female comedian on!  Don’t let the pod fool you… most of the time I’m quite family friendly!

Speaking of kids, the Mc Donald’s Happy Meal toys rock right now, my kids are into the How To Train Your Dragon toys!

I’m trying to use what free time I have before I start working to wrap stuff up… I have a move coming here in a little over a month!

I hope you got your taxes done… and that you’re getting a refund!  I actually owed the state money… And I didn’t have a job last year!

I’ve mentioned it on the pod, but down here at the CRN I have really taken a liking to Jack Roberts… He has great old radio stories and is a very funny guy!  Well, I have traded my video diary of the sick fish here for daily harassment of Jack… Here’s today’s video!

Still haven’t tried a KFC Double Down... I’m going to give it a chance, only so I can rub it in Stench’s face that I’ve had one and he hasn’t!

I keep forgetting to mention it, but I think Tiger Woods did more damage than good at the Masters this year.  After his “heartfelt apology”, claiming he was again embracing his buddhism and becoming a better person, he displayed his poor sportsmanship and again proved himself a liar with his profanity laced outbursts.  What a super douche!

I did all of these!  They just went for a walk.  Aliens invade midwest.  A bouncing unborn baby.  Good news ladies, Mel’s back on the market.  He thought ahead. Take me out to the ballgame… So I can fight!  Good news racist drunks, Mel is back on the market.  Just another NJ spring break.  Finally a museum I don’t want to visit!

Good News!

It only took a year and a half, but I have a full time job!  Starting in May I will be the producer of the syndicated Ron Insana Show!  I’m so excited to be back in regular broadcast radio… I love the podcast, but there is just something energizing about working live on-air.

It is so refreshing to have things moving in a positive direction, after two years of divorce hell, things are looking up.

The apartment search continues on, there are actually a lot of options.  I have to figure out where the best location for the kids and me is?  Work is in Valencia and Sunland, the kids are in Venice and most of my friends are in the Burbank/North Hollywood area, I have to find the middle.

The kids and I had a fun weekend… A little Burbank on Parade, some time with friends and we checked out a few apartments.  This upcoming weekend I am semi-kidless (No kids Friday and Saturday), I’m going out to celebrate with my friend who recommended me for the job… Thanks Brian!

I met Mike (in Granada Hills) for some late night tea last night, he has another great opportunity for me that I’m pursuing.  He is such a great guy, He’s one of those people that you’re just always comfortable around.

More good news, Bing told me I’m invited to his birthday party!  I like that he gave me advance notice, I’ll mark it in my daytimer.

One lucky chicken.  Almost ready ladies. Crime fighting photographer! And I’m impressed when my 3 year old says his ABC’s.  Cool Banksy art in L.A.  This package was not the bomb.  Grandma v. Bull… guess who won?  HUH!?!?

Lot’s to tell you!!!

A full post is coming later today… OK, most likely tonight!  But enjoy a short video from the Burbank on Parade this last weekend!

Looking good…

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

It’s looking like I may have a real radio job very soon… Although, I’m not counting my chickens until they’re hatched!

The kids in radio club continue to do a great job, I’m hoping to have their first show to share with you all soon.

Bing amazed me the other day, we were reading a book that we often read the other day and he asked if he could read it.  Remember they’re not at my house everyday, so it’s not like we get the chance to read this book nightly and he doesn’t have a copy at his Mom’s…  He nailed every word in the book without any help from me.  I know it’s memorization, but it was still impressive… And it’s not one of those 8 page cardboard books!

I’ve been having a lot of fun at CRN, I have been able to co-host many of the shows here and the web stuff is going great.  In fact, I’ll be co-hosting Welcome To The Mommyhood again this Sunday, last week was so much fun!

Now they’re charging for carry-ons!  Cop gets porked.   Bigfoot is in AZ.  Racist dog slashed.  Muffin squeezer! Toebelina.

Easter Earthquake

Sunday, April 4th, 2010

Well what a way to shake up Easter… With the ground actually moving!  We were home from my sisters enjoying and early dinner and watching The princess and the Frog (Which is just OK according to Bing and Me, but Lucy really likes it) when the earthquake hit.  I felt it first and then made the kids sit under a chair they were near… I’m usually a sit and ride it out kind of guy, but it shock pretty good here in the land of body shops and trannys.

What really struck me was how much better it was to have the kid here… One of the many horrible side effects of divorce is not having your kids around during big events.  This has been the first earthquake since my marriage crumbled that the kids have been with me… And it makes so much difference, in the past I knew I was alright, but had to wonder, where are the kids, are they OK, what happened where they are!?!?

It’s just such a helpless feeling to know something has happened big, but you don’t know how it has effected your kids.  That’s why I made sure Lucy called her Mom right away… It sucks to not know.  Luckily this was “the big one”, in fact as of this posting there has been no reported damage… But these reminders always get you thinking.

Hope you and your family had a great Easter or Passover and are all safe and sound.

Easter!

Have a great Easter!!!  This video is a few months old, but I thought it was funny… Bing starts out excited, then doesn’t really like it, but recovers well at the end!

Hollywood – Idols and Dancers

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

Let’s face it, I’m old!  I don’t just go out to Hollywood anymore… Well, unless it’s to The El Capitan to see a kids movie with Lucy and Bing.  But a good friend of mine called a week or so ago and told me an old friend was coming to town for just the day a small group of us decided to make the trek over the hill.

I have known all of these people for over 20 years, they were part of the old Dalt’s crew, two got married and now work in the entertainment business, another pair also married (Dalt’s spawned many marriages, including mine… the only difference is theirs have worked out way better) but only one could make it down from up north and there was me. Our friend who was in town, Stacey, was part of this group and we have all known each other for a long time and we have all had our ups and downs… But admittedly not as bad as Stacey.

She now lives in Texas, but when we all met she was a hostess at Dalt’s, a young  Texas girl who had moved out to Los Angeles to break into dancing and she was doing a great job, even becoming a Ram’s Cheerleader (That tells you how long ago this was, there was football here). Everything was going great, until she had a seizure one day… That’s when they discovered she had brain cancer.

We all were there through this first battle, it was horrible to watch such a young woman go through so much, but she was always positive and fought hard.  Flash forward to last night, she now has survived 4 brain surgeries, is a Mom and even though she can’t really dance herself, she continues to teach young dancers.

So a bunch of old friends loaded into the car, drove into Hollywood, grabbed a bite at Dillon’s ( Where we met Casey James from American Idol’s brother… having never watched this season I had no idea who he was, but my friends picked him out right away), and then headed to The Avalon (Which will always be The Palace to me!)  When we got there Stacey met us at the door and was the same upbeat woman we knew so many years ago and we watched her dancers perform a routine she choreographed.  The kids were great, but the best part was to see how excited she was and to realize how amazing it is that no matter what happened to her, she kept her dream alive… It might not have been exactly the way she wanted it to happened, but she found a way to stay involved in the thing she loved the most, dance.

It was really cool to see, and really makes you put your own life in perspective.
