Book Review…

Wednesday, June 20th, 2012

OK it’s my Book, I just got my copy today and I thought I’d let you guys know what I think.  (I ordered the soft cover version) I liked the overall look, but next time I will include more photos, it wasn’t quite enough.  I enjoy the simple design and Blurb does a great job printing (The one photo that is a little soft on the focus is totally my fault), the colors and blacks looked very good.  This was my first attempt and I learned a bunch, I can’t wait to try again!!!

I you listen to the Pod or not the Pod Quote Of The Day is a fun (ADULT!!!!) twitter feed…  We say some messed up stuff!

Kids are still gone.  I had a nothing Father’s Day, I went grocery shopping and for a bike ride.  The kids called… But a 5 minute phone call is not the same as celebrating the day with your kids.

The stream is still down at work, they promise me they are working on getting all issues resolved and getting it back up!  I will post as soon as they do, I really appreciate all of you who took the time to check it out, it means a lot to me.

I got a new phone so I am able to be on Instagr.am… But I’m not sure how to direct you to my pics?  I’m “Dadjack” on there, maybe that will help.

It is the first day of summer and the longest day of the year!  So have a great summer!!!

My First Book!

Thursday, June 14th, 2012

This was one of the things I have wanted to try, I have self published my first photo book on Blurb.   It is a small collection of images I have taken of sunsets, clouds and other stuff in the sky.  This is kind of a test for me, I want to see how it goes… If well I will make some others.

Thanks for checking out the preview!

It’s Been A While, Sorry!

Wednesday, June 13th, 2012

It has taken some getting used to being back on the old morning show schedule!  I’m back to having it feel semi-normal to wake up at 2am.

The morning show is going good…  Although the live streaming has been down for a few weeks (It was so nice that so many of you have been listening online!  I’ll let you know when it’s back up.)  I’m way better with all the technical equipment, getting more familiar with the Antelope Valley and I really like my new boss.

It is weird how working further away makes you appreciate being home more, you kind of see all your surroundings with fresh eyes.

I’ve been kind of bummed the last few weeks knowing the kids are going to be out of town for Father’s Day…  This will be my first Father’s Day since having them that they have not been with me.  Anyway, I’m not going to make my first post in a long time a downer!

Stench and I were able to get together for lunch today.  We still have not nailed down a date or place for our next live pod… We will, Stench wants to perform some stand up and we haven’t been out in a long time.

I’m trying to motivate, there have been some projects I have wanted to work on (this blog being one of them!)…  I am going to try and compile some photos into a book, but I’ll have more information on that when I actually do it.

I got a Razor Pro Model Scooter because the kids have really been into riding their scooters…  It’s harder on the knees than I thought it would be (Or maybe I’m just old).  It has been fun to all ride together… We’re kind of like an extremely small, slow scooter gang!  We’ve doing a good bit of bike riding too… Although I still don’t have Bing off of training wheels.  He wants to learn, but then gives up pretty quickly… I’m not pushing him though, he’s the kind of kid that will just one day decide he doesn’t need them and will ride two wheels from that point on.

Speaking of Bing, he’s been getting really good at recognizing words and spelling (I’m so proud of both kids, they are both very into words and spelling!)…  He was very excited to find a book with his name in it. Arnie, the Doughnut is a book about a doughnut that gets purchased by Mr. Bing and doesn’t want to be eaten…  I have read it to my Mr. Bing like a million times he loves it (Not as much as The Grinch That Stole Christmas which he has totally memorized, but it is a close second.)

As I’ve been writing this Lucy has been texting me from out of town… I guess her recent interest in texting is a preview for what I will be in for when she gets her own phone!

OK, I’m sorry for rambling, I’m just trying to get back into the blogging groove.  I will post again soon!

Thanks as always for reading, listening, following and liking me.
