Tis the season…

Tuesday, November 29th, 2011

But I’m not feeling it yet.  I have been unemployed over Christmas in the past, but this time it just seems worse.  I’m giving it the old college try, tree is up and finely decorated by the kids (which means all the decorations are in two locations at the exact height of their reach… kids don’t get the concept of evenly spreading the decorations on the tree!), lights are in the windows and I even baked some goodies.  I’m sure I’ll get more in the mood as we get closer.

I have yet to hear of a hot toy this year… I can usually gauge by what the kids want but this year they both asked for generic things (Books, puzzles, golf stuff, etc.)  I am glad they’re still young and like fun stuff (I like playing with their toys too!)… I just read an article on what teens want this year and cash, cloths and iPads topped the list.  I like to get the kids stuff that inspires imagination and creativity (because if they had their way they would play on the computer and ipod all day!)  Bing loves to play with “toy food” ( like Melissa & Doug Wooden Sandwich-Making Set ) …. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard “Daddy eat this… but don’t really eat it” as he hands me something he has “cooked.”  Both kids are really into making art and they love having their own supplies ( like Darice – ArtyFacts – Portable Art Studio. Deluxe Art Set. 131 Pieces w/Wood case. )…  The link goes to Amazon, but check your paper for Michael’s coupons, they have a huge selection and you can almost always get 50% off.  Lucy is currently really into Junie B. Jones books ( Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus (Junie B. Jones, No. 1) (Book & CD) ) … It’s great to see her enjoy reading (Especially since I’ve never been a big reader!)  They also both love to put on “shows” and make videos, so I’m thinking puppets ( like Melissa & Doug Chef Puppet )  might be a good idea.  Just some ideas to help you start thinking about what the kids in your life might enjoy.

On the podcast front we have submitted the pod to the Guinness Book of World Records for most recorded hours… We currently have 1155 hours of podcasts in our archives, so we’ll see what happens?  It takes them 4-6 weeks to process and decide.

And I know I’ve mentioned it before, but I post interesting/funny/disturbing news stories daily on my facebook “fan” page … So if you get a chance like me!

Yes…

I saw it this morning!  I have two favorite times of the year for news, July and December.  Today I saw the “what fireworks do to a mannequins hand story” and come December I will enjoy “Here’s what your Christmas tree looks like in flames” story… Hey, it’s the simple things.

I’m picking up the kids to go hang this morning… This not being able to have them come over midweek thing kind of sucks, so I try and make up for it with a midweek adventure of some sort.

I went and purchased replacement betta fish number two… This time Lucy’s died, so we’ll have to see if the new one fools her!?!?  The color is almost perfect, but it’s a little smaller than “Shark Heart 1″ was. This time I went to a different pet shop… my logic is that I had been buying the fish at a local, small pet shop (Peggy Wood’s in Burbank) and they most likely don’t sell may betta’s, so their fish sit around in the tupperware for longer, this time I went to Pet Smart (or PetCo, Petville, PetMart… I can never remember the name of that place) where they sell more fish and should by my estimation have “fresher” fish… We’ll see.

I realized the other day that I now have health insurance… which means I can try out for Wipe Out!  I need to see if there are auditions anytime soon, Lucy would be so excited to see me fall and make an ass out of myself on there!

I’ve been slacking on my summer movie releases, I still haven’t seen Shrek or Toy Story 3… I think the next thing we will see for sure is Despicable Me, both the kids and I want to see that one. (Opens July 9th)

No resolution on Stench’s pod blind item?  And he’s not talking, he hasn’t even told me off the air (Because he knows I would talk about it here).

Thanks for all the great 4th of july suggestions on Facebook…  We will most likely stick to the valley, maybe watch the city of Burbank set the hillside on fire with their annual display (It happens every year, the display from The Starlight Bowl starts small spot fires… I have an idea Burbank, don’t have your cities display in the hills, there are flat, less flammable parts of the city!?!?)

Finally, a job I’m qualified to do!!!  Birdsssss!  What, the Skort didn’t make the list?  R.I.P. Paul Johnson.   I want to take the kids to see this.  Quick someone get a swoffin.   Holy pipe.   Ouch!

Dancing With The Stars, I don’t even like the show!

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

But I was so glad to see Kate get voted off Dancing With The Stars!  You’ve all heard my rants on the podcast,  but I really think she is one of the scummiest people in media today… correction, society today!

I had the chance to have lunch with Ron Insana (The host of the show I’m going to produce), and I really liked him.  It was such a relief, to meet him and find out he’s a good guy with a great sense of humor… I’m always afraid I’ll get stuck with another Bonaduce! The show starts May 10th, I’m really excited to get it going.  I’ll let you know where you can hear it as soon as I know.

Still no apartment, but I’m not worried yet, I still have over a month.  We looked at one the other night… Bing and Lucy liked it, well, they liked the pool!

We are small, but we are mighty!!! Mark (Miki’s husband) and Angela Channel (my sister) won the online contest on facebook thanks to all your votes, you rule!

Bing continues to plan his birthday party… Most recently Lucy is not invited, luckily she has 6 months to get back into his good graces.

In case your planning your summer vacation.   No thanks.  Shouldn’t a psychic have seen this coming?  Do you like “like“?  This is horrible, gross, disgusting!  Stench needs one of these!  Advertising opportunity.
