Summer is here!

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Yesterday was the longest day of the year and summer has officially started… The only bummer of my new apartment is no swimming pool.  The kids swimming was getting very strong with all the pool time we got last summer.  My favorite part of this season are the warm nights… there’s nothing like sitting out on a patio on a warm summer night (Unless you live somewhere with a lot of bugs… then you need that bug zapping light thing!)

The new car is amazing… But I have to re-train myself, I keep rolling down the window and opening the door from the outside (That’s how you had to get out of the “Busty Old Car”)  Speaking of the B.O.C., I found a way to hopefully subside some of Lucy’s sadness over getting rid of it… I pried off the emblems and printed out some photos of us with the car and made a shadowbox with them (I’ll have to take a pic and post it, it turned out pretty good) and hung it in the kids room….  Kind of like a shrine to that beat up piece of metal.

I haven’t had a chance to watch much of the summer programming yet… I’ve caught the show with Jillian from Biggest Loser (Didn’t like it) and Last Comic Standing (Like it), but that’s about it so far.  Has anyone seen the new Betty White sit-com?  Any good?

Right now kids shirts are on sale at Threadless … $9 bucks, got Lucy a shark shirt and Bing a cat shirt (They didn’t have any featuring bowling balls or golf balls).  While I’m plugging sites, Gilt has some cool kids stuff on sale too… They always have cool kids stuff, the adult stuff can be kind of pricey, and Groupon is perfect for Non-Diet Stench today with a great BBQ deal.

Farrell’s tomorrow!  Can’t wait to have a sundae… You cannot go to Farrell’s and not have a sundae!!!

I know he’s my kid, so I am a little biased… But I keep rewatching the Bing golfing video, no matter what that kid does he makes me laugh.  When I was a Michael’s getting my shadowbox I picked up some art supplies for Lucy, she is a very talented artist and is now into sketching … If she ever becomes a famous artist I will have the complete early years archive, I have hundreds of drawing and painting shoved everywhere.

I’ve always been super paranoid of this!  I can’t believe I missed this.  Beware of what you say to Rolling Stone… It may get you a quick trip to the President’s office.  What? L.A. didn’t make the list?  Has anyone seen this clown?   A 75M fixer upper.  Yeah, so? At least he’s clean.

Health Care…

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

OK, I’m not really going to talk about Health Care, I just didn’t want to be the only person not to mention it.

The kids and I had a great weekend, Lucy got in some whale watching with Angela, Bing and I did a little mini golf and we all went down to Hollywood and checked out the marathon.  Yesterday was Radio Club day, the kids are doing great!

I had kind of a bummer on Friday, Lucy came home from school and started to cry, I guess some of the kids were picking on her.  It breaks your heart as a parent to see your kids hurt, I was picked on as a kid too and I know how bad it feels.  You do your best to make them understand kids are mean and that it really has nothing to do with them… But she’s 6, and all she really knows is that they were making fun of her.  It was nice that one kid stood up for her, and I took a second to tell that childs Mom yesterday that her little girl is a very kind and considerate child.  I know it’s part of school and growing up, but I wish I could shield her from it.

I just wanted to post something quickly, I’ll blog at you more later!  have a great day!

Podcast On The Edge

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

As I warned in an earlier blog, the podcast is struggling.  I really hope we can save it, it’s really become a labor of love for Stench and me. We need a big boost in subscribers in a short amount of time, Angela Channel and a bunch of you have some great ideas, so hopefully they work!

The kids and I had a great weekend… It was so great to get to spend some time with them, they hadn’t been over in a while!  We hit the new Bob’s Big Boy , it was a win-win… They had apple juice for Bing and hot dogs for Lucy (Two things they don’t have at the Toluca Lake Bob’s).  Lucy has been big on her Littlest Pet Shop toys lately… We have been collecting stickers to get the platypus, it’s good to have goals.  Bing is still obsessed with golf balls, especially colored ones… He loved the orange ones I had printed with his name on them.

I told you all I’ve been helping with the radio club at Lucy’s school… It has been really, really rewarding.  If there was one thing that being emotionally and financially destroyed in this whole divorce process has taught me is that the most important things are not money related!  I feel so lucky that I have the time to go down and work with the kids, they are so great and eat up everything we’ve been teaching.  Lucy and Bing had to go with me on Monday (It’s currently only open to 4th and 5th graders), and Lucy told me when she is old enough she wants to join.  The other exciting aspect of this is that it is the pilot program, we are working hard to get it in other schools, which I will hopefully be involved in too!  It has also been cool all the positive response I have received from my friends in the business, people like Carson Daly ( Amp Radio) , Chuck Ide (Clear Channel engineering genius) and Jim Pratt (Voice of the Lifetime network, Disney Channel and many others) have all committed to coming down and speaking with the kids.  I’m sorry to go on and on about this, but it is something I am really excited about!!!!

Stench is rocking at the Jason Ellis Show, He seems to really love it, which is so cool… He has been so down and put up with so much crap, it is great to see him doing something he enjoys.

This blog cannot be all positive… it’s just not my style!  Did I mention I hate my apartment building?  I’m counting the day’s until my lease is up and I can get out of there… And give you all the exact details on where not to live!!!!!

This guy kind of rules.   There are “Exotic chickens?“  Killer wave.   Dog silencer!?!?  Do you believe her?  Gotta stay on schedule.  Betty is fine!!!  Congrats on the marriage.

Working Man…

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

Well, Kind of! I’m working part-time at the CRN.  (Remember, that place Stench and I used to do a show at)  I am their Social Media Marketing Director/Promotions Director… I am excited for a few reasons: 1. I really like everyone their. 2. It’s something different everyday (I get bored). 3. It reminds me of when I started at Star… My friend had hired me to be a production assistant, but slowly I had worked my way into doing all kinds of different stuff, it’s like an adventure.

Stench’s job start has been delayed a week… But all is still a go!!!

The kids and I had a mellow weekend.  Lucy was recovering from illness, so Thursday and Friday it was just me a Bing… We did some of our favorite things: lunch at Panera, walking around the Smart Car and Mini Cooper dealerships, Wii bowling.  Lucy came over Saturday and we watched movies and hung out and Grandmas.  For Valentine’s Grandma got them both real putters, they were very excited… If only for the day, Bowling Girl was Golfing Girl.

I’ve been enjoying the Olympics (Even if they’ve been having a bunch of problems)… Although, I’d still rather have live coverage than the edited down, prime time segments.

They still need 4 million.  Double slapped. This bitch won.  How Tut died.  Keep it fresh.  Support our troops.    Walmart wins.

I promise, longer blogs later this week!
