Mini-Spring Break

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Our Spring Break was very short, but we made the best of it!  We saw How To Train Your Dragon yesterday, and we all enjoyed it, even Bing.  It is very entertaining for a kids film.  Then we hit the pool…  It was really our first time swimming this year and the kids remembered most of their swim lessons.  I coated them extra thick with sunblock… those kids are extra white after the winter!

Lucy is having a little bit of a hard time with Edison’s passing… It’s hard for most of us to get our heads around death, let alone when we are 6!

I was listening to the radio after dropping off the kids today and I heard one of those AT&T Fios commercials, the ones that promote that you can record a show in one room and watch it in any other room.  I started to think how little televsion has mattered to me in recent years… and I think new technology is partially to blame.   It used to take some effort to insure you saw a show, set the VCR or more recently DVR or make sure you were home and tuned in.  Now there is never a fear of missing out, between DVR’s and the internet you can always find what you missed… And because of that there is no urgency, no excitement.  Now not only do I know if I miss a program I can find it, but if it actually is worth seeing I’ll hear some buzz afterward and I can track it down then.  This year every episode of The Office that I watched was online and only after someone asked if I had seen a scene from it.  Maybe it’s just me, but I guess having something always available actually makes you use it less.

I still haven’t filed my taxes, I have to do it this week!  I have to find someplace to live too! (Thanks for the listings Ms. Heather!)  I have a tendency to put off things I really don’t want to deal with until the last minute… OK, time to jump in!

Just in time for Spring Break!  It’s Back.  Don’t forget to “Like” Jack! (Yes, I’m begging for fans!)  This is horrible. Flipping is making a comeback.  Republican’s like a good spanking too!  Moooommmmmmm!

Two more quick things!!!  One, I’ll be co-hosting The PM Show with Eric Horn on CRN 1 at 4pm Pacific today and two, Can you believe Ricky Martin is gay!?!?

The New fall Season

Monday, September 14th, 2009

Yep, in the next couple weeks most of your favorite shows come back and some new ones start… I always feel like it’s a new season in my life too, kind of like the spring cleaning mentality, time to start something new.  I know Stretch and I have been talking about adding some new stuff to the CRN show and pod.

The kids and I had a very nice, mellow weekend.  It was a tad cool, but we did get some swimming in…  They would go if it was 40 below!  We went for a walk, BBQ’d, played some Wii and made some “arts and crafts” (according to Lucy, I like to call it coloring)… It was a really nice, easy weekend.  It was my first time taking Lucy to her new school this morning… Everything went smoothly.  She really likes her new school and teacher… And Bing likes getting her out of his hair during the day.  He and I “played bowling” and went for a little walk.

We’re all excited for the Lobster Fest this weekend… It really is one of our favorite things to attend!

Meet a M.A.D.L. (Mom Alligators Don’t Like).  Missing Yale womans body found.  Sorry about the whole knife thing.  Carry On, the way to go.  Walporn. Wrong Baby! Will work for tuition.  This is sad on so many levels.  Yummy Dodger dogs!  Burning Man pics.  You don’t need to know this, just go to Lobster Fest!  Another way your pool can kill you.

Do something new… Just breaking the routine can change your whole attitude!
